Plastic Applications

Pearlescent pigment can be used for transparent and translucent plastic resin. The use of pearlescent pigment will bring a charming color visual effect. Generally, the resin with better transparency can fully display the luster and color effect unique to pearlescent pigment. For less transparent resins (PC/PVC, etc.), the pearlescent luster and hue can also be fully displayed due to the processing characteristics of these resins.

Pearlescent pigments are widely used in cosmetic containers, various packaging, toys, decorative materials, various films and other plastic products.

Cosmetic application

Pearlescent pigment is made of natural mica, which is resistant to high temperature and contains no toxin. It is in full compliance with the International Food and Drug Administration (FDA), harmless to human body, and does not harm skin and eyes. With diversified colors and convenient color matching, it can be used to produce lipstick, eye shadow, foundation make-up, eyeliner, eyebrow pencil, nail polish, hair cream, skin cream, hair spray and other different cosmetics.

Paint application

Pearlescent pigments have good dispersibility and good physical and chemical properties, so they are widely used in the coating industry. No matter what kind of monochrome coating is mixed with pearlescent pigment, it can become a pearlescent coating. Its pearlescent and metallic luster effect is impressive. Pearlescent coatings have been used in many fields such as automobiles, locomotives, daily necessities, building materials, etc.

Pearlescent pigments have a sheet structure, so the wetting is simple and rapid, but the polar surface of the system and the chemical properties of the medium or solvent should be considered. The chips of pearlescent pigments are easy to be damaged when they are dispersed. Generally, pearlescent pigments can be dispersed by simply stirring. If dispersion machinery is used, only short-term mixing is allowed. It is recommended to disperse the slurry in advance and then add it to the paint for mixing.

Ink application

Pearlescent pigment can not only produce pearlescent effect in printing ink, but also maintain the original tone, and can bring a variety of metallic luster effects and iridescent luster effects. Pearlescent pigments have been widely used in the printing industry, commonly used in the printing of various packaging papers, magazines, advertising paintings, textiles and other items.

Pearlescent pigment has excellent dispersibility and can be mixed with low viscosity printing ink with only slight stirring. As the pearlescent pigment is a layered structure, it can only be stirred slightly when mixed with the ink to avoid strong mechanical treatment and avoid damage to the surface of the pearlescent powder.
